" two albuquerque parents are breathing a sigh of relief tonight -- after finding out their daughter who lives in chile is ok. shannon zeigler was in her apartment on the 13th floor when the devastating earthquake struck. jeff maher talked to zeigler face to face about her terrifying experience he's here with our top story. jeff. when the earthquake struck -- 24-year- old shannon zeigler was thinking that her 13-story apartment building in santiago would certainly collapse. she thought she was going to die. minute thumbnail 10:02 pm but she made it through -- and soon, she'll be back living in albuquerque with her very grateful parents. "hi honey! hi honey! oh my gosh, it's so good to see you sweetie, oh my gosh!" for the first time since the deadly earthquake in chile, maddie zeigler is seeing her daughter, safe and sound in her santiago apartment -- thanks to a webcam. "live and in color shannon! oh but i don't want you up on that 13th floor for very long honey." zeigler, an english teacher who has lived in santiago for two years, says officials assured her that the apartment building she lives in is safe. through the webcam, she told me when the earthquake struck around 3:30am, she was asleep in her bed. her boyfriend woke her up after feeling a small vibration -- seconds later --the whole room began shaking violently zeigler grabbed on to a door frame and held on for dear life.
